This is the ever so handsome Matthew Broderick, in the movie Torch Song Trilogy, which inspired my main character Ronald Abernathy. In this movie Matthew brings a boyish charm to the screen, but also brings a lot of sex appeal. Matthew plays a shy and curious stalker who falls in love quite carelessly and ends up paying for it. Much like Ronnie who gives in so carelessly into his emotions and winds up regretting his outburst.
I made Ronnie my main character for one reason: he is the most passionate character. If it had been Ronnie who was killed instead of Will, Will probably would've quietly mourned his death for a week or two, then moved on with his life, that's just the type of person he is. Ronnie, however, is driven to a dark place in his mind where he will try to seek justice and eventually revenge. Ronnie being my second favorite character because he has the most character, he might not show it like Will does due to his cowardice, but his explosive nature makes him a force to be reckoned with.
This picture is probably the one with most resemblance to Ronnie. I would say an exact representation of Ronnie's character.
This movie touches on very controversial subjects. Its about a man trying to find love in the big apple. Its from 1986 which is my favorite movie era. Matthew Broderick's role made the movie for me, oddly enough he took this role right after Ferris Bueller's Day Off which are worlds apart in context. I recommend this movie for all film enthusiasts, it will definitely leave you reflecting on your own life and viewpoints.
